Ukraine has announced the start of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative domestically developed interceptor drone to enhance its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have started manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to set up assembly lines, the defence ministry stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Tested in Combat Conditions

The drones will be based on a domestically developed system called “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in combat and proved successful “at night, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” officials confirmed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of producing as many as 1,000 defensive drones each day.
