Netflix Chooses Spot-On Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a adored, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.

The platform declared Tuesday that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Mr. 2. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any person they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a interpretation of that role reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the source material and anime.

The new cast member joins several other recently announced actors set to bring the organization to the screen, featuring head Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of the desert kingdom.

Even though this character is a major member of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. With the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the timing of their first appearance, one that could indicate further changes to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the character. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
